This morning was Breakfast with Santa, a local event the Junior Women’s League puts on. We have gone every year. Yes, there are prettier Santas at the mall but I am just not ready for that-mainly because I don’t think my children are! I know my time is running out but its very nice to not have to travel out of town and wait in a long line to pay tons of money for a picture that you have one shot at getting just right. That day is coming I know. In the meantime, thank goodness for Breakfast with Santa!
We got a late start this year because it was raining just horrible!! I really debated all morning about getting the girls out but they had such cute shirts I had gotten made just for the occasion and I wasn’t sure there would be another (convenient) opportunity to get both the girls together. I finally decided to get out the umbrellas, pick up Honey for some extra help and make a go for it.
We missed the pancake breakfast but only had to wait behind one family for Santa. Campbell was very good-no tears and she talked very well to Santa. She told him she wanted a Mickey Mouse choo choo train, a Barbie dollhouse and a “princess castle piano”.
Santa told her to remember to listen to her mommy and daddy and that he liked chocolate chip cookies.
Sara Gray was also very good-she didn’t even squirm at that strange fellow holding her! The little pink knit hat she is wearing was made by one of Clairee’s friends and is the same one Campbell wore in her first picture with Santa.
After pictures, it was time for the Christmas carnival. Campbell enjoyed the bounce house and slide, coloring, making reindeer food, crafts and all the carnival games. I’m glad we braved the weather. There wasn’t a huge crowd which made it very easy on us and it gave us some activity on an otherwise yucky, rainy, stay-in-the-house kinda day.

Fun! Now I'm sad we weren't in town!
