Halloween Festivities Begin

I am learning that Halloween is not simply a one day event, its almost a season!  The festivities kicked off this morning with Campbell wearing her costume to school and having a Halloween party. She was so excited to get to show off her “new” red hair to her class!

After school & work, we went to the university for “Haunted Hill” games with the sororities & fraternities. Joy & Frank loaded up some neighborhood kids on a hayride an away we went to Sorority Hill.  Campbell wasn’t quite big enough for all the games but we visited our friends at the KD house and of course got lots of candy!

When we got back, there was an Orange Street Halloween party. We had a pumpkin carving contest and just gathered with neighbors for pizza and let the kids play. Matt carved ours…it’s Shrek (one of Campbell’s favorite movies.  can you see it? No, we didn’t win but Matt worked really hard!!

Today was a LONG continuous Halloween celebration with too much sugar for our Little Mermaid. I can’t believe that the real Halloween really isn’t until tomorrow!! I am looking forward to it though. Our street is always notorious for lots of trick-or-treaters (mostly treaters!) and our house seems to be the headquarters for our friends to come over to give out their candy and just socialize so its always fun.  Gotta go decorate!

FBC Family Fall Fest

The Little Mermaid made her debut last night at our church’s annual fall festival.  She was too funny in her red wig!!  Campbell had fun playing the games, riding the train and going down the BIG slide.  Several of her friends also came and they all were so precious in their costumes!

Pumpkin goes to the Patch

Campbell and I followed our friends Leigh Anne and Anna & Sarah out to Faith Farm Petting Zoo for visit to the pumpkin patch.  I was so surprised! There was so many animals: pigs, different types of birds, donkeys, deer, a camel, turkeys, even a kangaroo—truly a little zoo in the country!!  They had a little country store and restaurant where we ate lunch, a playground and even a huge inflatable bouncer.  When it was time for us to go pick our pumpkins, we loaded up on a tractor-drawn trailer piled with hay and it took us on a winding trail. When we got to the clearing there were hundreds of little pumpkins spread out in the field, just perfect for the little ones to go and pick up.  Campbell was so excited!!  I highly recommend Faith Farms—the family owners are so kind and really have a clean and impressive operation just perfect for family fun.   image
