Saturday we all participated in the Fight Like a Girl run for breast cancer. Now of course we didn’t run the 5K but rather the 1 mile fun run/walk. We loaded up the stroller and registered all 4 of us. It was a beautiful day and a wonderful cause!
Since it was game day, the girls and I were decked out in our best! Alabama played Ole Miss (Matt’s alma mater) but Matt was rooting for Bama since he wants them to have an undefeated season. Well, of course we had to say Hotty Toddy!
Campbell sported her Auburn shirt (or her War Eagle shirt as she says), I had my pink Ole Miss shirt on and even Sara Gray had her “baby rebel” onesie on.
Campbell started off really running hard and we left Matt pushing the stroller way behind. About 1/3 of the way in, Campbell started walking and then she decided she was ready to quit about 1/2 way. Luckily, a friend of hers from school, Houston, was also walking with his family so that gave her some motivation to keep going. The route was fairly close to our house and she asked me if we could just go home. But we kept going. So we lost our lead and eventually Matt had to carry her on his shoulders but we crossed the finish line running!
When we got home Campbell asked if she could get her pillow and lay down to watch TV. On her way to get her pillow and blanket she stopped in the kitchen and said “Whew-I am TIRED!”. Matt suggested we may need to go for a run with her every Saturday morning!
