Little Miss Independence

This past Saturday was the City of Brundidge’s Independence Day Celebration.   It’s an old-fashioned patriotic parade and Campbell got to actually ride on a float!  She loves parades but of course has always been in the crowd so this was especially exciting for her!!

Our Chamber of Commerce has a float and Leigh Anne and her girls asked Campbell to come along for the ride.  It worked out perfectly since Matt was out of town on his golf trip and I had so much to do in the nursery.

I had bought Campbell her little flag dress last year at TroyFest.  Wouldn’t you know…Leigh Anne had bought the same dress for her girls too!  So Campbell got to be a “twin” for the day-or I guess they got to be triplets.

When the girls got back home, Leigh Anne reported that Campbell was great. However-she is totally Miss Independent so half way through the parade route, Campbell decided she wanted to sit on the bench.  The bench was reserved for the “Business of the Year” which was a man we didn’t know and he had his granddaughter riding with him.  According to Leigh Anne, Campbell just walked right up to him (a total stranger) and sat in the middle, settled in comfortably and waved her flag like a little beauty queen for the remainder of the parade.  Look at her! (look at her hand!) What in the world do you do when you have your own Little Miss Independence??

Thank you Miss Leigh Anne, Anna & Sarah for giving Campbell such a fun day and giving mom some much needed time to get lots of work done.  You’re the Best!
