We had a wonderful Mother’s Day. The celebration began Saturday morning when the girls and Matt woke me up with cards and gifts and biscuits. Campbell made me a beautiful flower pot that had a flower she made in it with a sweet picture of her.
I also got some books that I have been wanting to read (and assuming that comes with some time to get to read them!). One of the best gifts was Sara Gray saying “mama” very plainly and loudly just as she started to drink her bottle. She has said it a little bit before but it was always accompanied with other sounds but this time is was very obvious what she was saying and she was looking right at me—I loved it!!
Matt let me celebrate Mother’s Day on Saturday because I actually wasn’t going to have my girls Sunday morning. We had an engagement party/crawfish boil that we were hosting so Matt drove the girls to Montgomery and met my mom so she could take them to the lake with her. On Sunday, Matt & I woke up very early and headed to the lake just in time to meet the girls and my family at the little chapel at Children’s Harbour.
The pastor delivered a very funny and sentimental message made up of memories of his own mother. I was surprised how emotional I got! I guess there is just something sweet about being a mother and appreciating your own mother so much more!!!
After church, we had a great brunch and gave Honey, Pats and Nana their cards. I gave my mom a huge wood bowl I found at market that I am pretty sure she had been on the lookout for. The weather was really cool so we just spent the rest of the day being lazy and I got in a little nap cuddling with Campbell. Sara Gray got to eat her first strawberry and loved it (and no allergic reactions later…!)
It was a wonderful Mother’s Day spent with my girls and my mom, aunt & grandmother. I am so thankful to have such wonderful mothers in my life as great examples and influences.
I pray that I will be the mother that my children will celebrate when they are older not only for my works but because of the lessons that I taught them. It definitely is the toughest job I have ever had but with the sweetest of rewards. Happy Mother’s Day!!

So glad you're doing well. Heard you spoke at the graduation...hate I missed it. We were out of town. Enjoyed all your past few posts. Can't believe how SG is growing and C's personality comes straight through in the pictures.
